Distance Tells Most of the Story
Gazipaşa Airport sits much closer to the eastern resort coast — around 25 km from Alanya, roughly a 35-minute transfer, and about 105 km from Side, around 1 hour 45 minutes. Antalya Airport, by contrast, is around 135 km from Alanya (about 2 hours) and a more variable 30 minutes to 2.5 hours from Side, depending on exactly where along that stretch you're staying. If Alanya or Side is your only destination, Gazipaşa is the shorter transfer on paper.
Why Most Travelers Still Fly Into Antalya
Antalya Airport is one of Turkey's busiest, with far more flight options, frequencies, and airlines than Gazipaşa's much smaller schedule — often the deciding factor once you're actually comparing flight prices and times rather than transfer distance alone. Antalya is also the practical choice if your trip covers more than the eastern coast — Belek, Side, and Alanya are all reachable from AYT, while Gazipaşa makes far less sense if you're staying anywhere west of Side.
What This Means for Your Transfer
