Is Lara Beach Sand or Pebble?
Sand — and that's the main reason people choose it over the city-side beaches. Lara's coastline is a long stretch of fine, golden sand running roughly 12 km east of Antalya's center, backed by a dense strip of large all-inclusive resorts. It's a different beach entirely from Konyaaltı on the western side of the city, which is pebble — a distinction worth knowing before you book, since it shapes the whole holiday.
Things to Do on Lara Beach
Most of Lara's resorts run their own beachfront, so a lot of the activity happens right in front of your hotel:
- Watersports — jet-skiing, banana boats, parasailing, and kite-surfing are widely available along the beach
- Beach clubs and nightlife — several stretches of Lara have beach bars and clubs that run through the evening

Lower Düden Waterfalls
At the eastern edge of Lara, the coastline rises into cliffs where the Lower Düden Waterfalls drop directly into the Mediterranean — one of very few places in the region where a waterfall meets the sea, and an easy add-on if you're staying nearby.
Antalya City Center
Lara borders Antalya's city center directly, so the historic Kaleiçi old town, the marina, and the Antalya Museum are all a short ride away rather than a full day trip — useful if you want a beach holiday with an easy option to see the city too. The ancient city of Perge, one of the better-preserved Roman sites on this coast, is also within reach for a half-day trip.
