Best Beaches Near Antalya: Lara, Konyaaltı, Kundu & Belek

Antalya's coastline offers a genuinely different beach experience depending on which stretch you pick — some are sandy resort belts a few minutes from the airport, others are pebble beaches inside the city, and some are built around golf courses rather than nightlife. Here's how the four beaches closest to Antalya Airport (AYT) actually compare.

Lara: The Closest Sandy Beach to the Airport

Lara is about 15 minutes from AYT and one of the few genuinely sandy beaches directly on this stretch of coast — a roughly 12 km strip east of the city center, backed by large all-inclusive resorts. It's the easiest option if you want fine sand and a short transfer, and it borders Antalya's city center closely enough that Kaleiçi and the Antalya Museum are a short ride away rather than a day trip. The Lower Düden Waterfalls sit right at its eastern edge, dropping directly into the sea.

Konyaaltı: Pebble Beach, City Views, and the Mountains Behind It

On the opposite side of Antalya's city center, Konyaaltı is a long pebble beach with a lively promenade, cycling paths, and the Beydağları (Taurus) mountains rising sharply behind it — one of the more dramatic backdrops on this coast. It's a Blue Flag beach and stays busy with both tourists and locals, since it's within the city rather than a standalone resort belt. Expect pebbles rather than sand — water shoes make a real difference here.

Kundu: The Closest Resort Belt, Built for All-Inclusive Stays

Kundu is a purpose-built resort zone just southeast of the airport — some of the shortest transfer times on the entire coast, since it sits almost adjacent to AYT itself. It's less a beach "town" than a cluster of large all-inclusive hotel complexes, each generally with its own private beach frontage, so it suits travelers prioritizing convenience and resort amenities over exploring a town center.

Belek: Golf Courses and a Quieter, Greener Coastline

Belek is around 35 minutes from AYT and known primarily for its golf courses — it's the center of Turkey's golf tourism, with resorts often built around fairways rather than a beach promenade. The coastline itself sits behind a belt of pine forest, giving it a noticeably greener, quieter feel than Lara or Kundu. It's a good fit if golf, spa resorts, or a slower pace matter more than nightlife.

Which One Should You Pick?

If a short transfer matters most, Kundu and Lara are both under 20 minutes from the airport. If you want sand specifically, Lara is the more reliable choice — Konyaaltı is pebble. If you'd rather stay inside Antalya's city and combine the beach with sightseeing, Konyaaltı puts Kaleiçi and the museum within easy reach. And if golf or a quieter, greener coastline is the priority, Belek is worth the extra 15–20 minutes on the transfer.
