There are three real ways to get from Antalya Airport to your hotel: a private transfer, a taxi from the rank, or the public bus. Here's how they actually compare — not just on price.
The Public Bus (#600 / #600A)
The cheapest option by far, and it genuinely works if your hotel is close to a stop and you're travelling light. The catch: it runs on a fixed schedule (roughly every 30 minutes by day, hourly at night), doesn't go door-to-door, and getting off at the wrong stop with luggage in an unfamiliar town is a real risk, not a hypothetical one. Fine for a solo traveller with one bag going somewhere central; genuinely difficult with kids, group luggage, or a hotel outside the main routes.
Taxi From the Rank
Available the moment you land, no booking needed — but that convenience comes with real trade-offs. Turkish taxi meters (taksimetre) are legally required but not always used honestly with tourists, and negotiating a price before getting in is common practice, which means you're negotiating in an unfamiliar currency, in a language you may not speak, right after a long flight. Prices can vary significantly for the exact same route depending on the driver and the day.
Private Transfer
The price is fixed before you fly, in your own currency, with no negotiation and no surprises at the curb. Your driver tracks your actual flight — not your booked time — so if you're delayed, they wait; they meet you with a name sign and take you door to door in one direct trip. It costs more than the bus. That's the trade you're making: a fixed, known price and zero uncertainty, versus the cheapest possible fare with real logistics to manage yourself.
Which One Makes Sense
If you're travelling light, solo, and comfortable navigating an unfamiliar transit system, the bus is genuinely fine. If you want to avoid haggling and don't mind rolling the dice on the fare, a taxi from the rank works. If you'd rather know the exact price before you leave home and skip the logistics entirely — especially with family, luggage, or a late-arriving flight — that's what a private transfer is for.
